A couple of weeks ago I went to see a doctor that my sister Mary went to while she was running track and cross country for UVU. Dr. Johnson spent a lot of time with Mary discussing all of the issues she was having with her health and then drew her blood to test for just about everything you could possibly think of. Since then, my mom and several members of my family have gone to Dr. Johnson to do the same thing.
This morning I went in to review my results of the blood tests with Dr. Johnson. Wow. My body is in desperate need of a tune-up. I have a under active thyroid, and very low levels of vitamin D, magnesium, testosterone, and progesterone. I also have an insane amount of candida in my blood, and have allergies to milk, wheat, oats, eggs, almonds, and chocolate. Yikes. All of these things are contributing to my stomach issues, fatigue, and anxiety, just to name a few.
I was sent home with a handful of prescriptions and a list of OTC items to get my body back in gear. I go back in about two months to have my blood drawn again to see how much progress I've made at trying to fix these problems.
So, here's to a healthier body and finally starting to feel good! Maybe now I'll have more energy to finally start working out again to get off those last few pregnancy pounds...
An update on Baby Park - for the last two weeks I've been putting probiotic powder in his bottle. He now very rarely spits up. Goodbye reflux. Hello happier baby and momma. By the way, the probiotic powder was Dr. Johnson's idea. Genius.
Oh...and for all you mom's out there, I have a great tip for you if your baby isn't pooping - get a Q-Tip, rub some Vaseline on one of the ends, push it inside your baby's rectum, and rub it around in there. Your baby won't like it...who can blame them...but it works. Baby Park hadn't pooped since Saturday. That's four days without pooping. Ouch. My aunt Abbie told me to try this today. I couldn't find any Vaseline, so I used Lanolin Breast Cream instead because it has a similar consistency. An hour later, POOP! Hallelujah!
