Cathy Update

On Tuesday morning, Cathy went into the hospital to get fluids.  She had been sick for a few days, unable to keep any food down and got very dehydrated.  Before they gave her fluids, they took her blood to check her bilirubin level and other levels.  Her blood work did not come back good.  Her bilirubin was a 35 and the rest of her lab work was critical.  Her doctor admitted her to the hospital, and told us that she has 3 days to 3 weeks left.

When I got the news, Park was in a plane on his way to Atlanta for a National meeting for the company he is interning with.  He called as soon as he landed, and after hearing the news, he got a flight to come right back home.

Cathy stayed in the hospital until Thursday, when she was discharged home with hospice care.  We have spent every day together as a family with her.

We were all supposed to leave for our Sorenson family vacation on Friday, but of course we canceled.  This was devastating news for Cathy.  She so badly wanted us to go on this trip together.

These last several days have been difficult for all of us.  We have known that this time would come...but now it is here.
