Christmas Eve we (me and Park) started the day out by sleeping in (heaven) and then making a late breakfast feast. Brittney and Spencer came up to that morning and spent the whole day with us (me, Park, Sarah, Jason, and my mom). After brunch we all played a very riveting game of Balderdash and then headed to the movie theater to see True Grit with the Hamp family. Park and I bought the original True Grit with John Wayne and watched it the night before. We really enjoyed both versions, but the new one was my favorite. After the movie it was off the Hamp's house for a pot roast dinner, card games, and lots of talking. Then we drove down the street to Wayne and Libbi's house to read and act out the Nativity. This year my mom got the role of Mary (a big upgrade from last year when she was the donkey). I'm told that next year I will get to be Mary and Baby Boy will have the star role as Baby Jesus. Finally we headed home and I helped my mom get packed for her trip.
Christmas morning we said goodbye to my mom and were off to Park's mom and dad's house for Christmas. When Park and I were dating I promised him every Christmas if I could have every Thanksgiving...it was one of the best decisions I've made. Park's family LOVES Christmas, and we don't have to worry about rushing from his family's Christmas to mine. We just get to go in the morning and relax all day and into the evening, watching movies and playing games. Cathy and Jay went all out...as always...for Christmas. It was fun to watch our nieces and nephews open their gifts. They make Christmas more fun for us adults. I can't wait for Baby Boy's first Christmas next year! Park's parents decided to give us all a family vacation for Christmas...we just have to pick a date and a place. I'm so excited for this! They did this for Christmas two years ago and we went to Disney Land in California in February 2009. This time we are thinking either Disney World in Orlando, Hawaii, or back East, and we are thinking of going in mid to late June. My sister-in-law Misa is having her baby at the end of February and I'm due the end of April...so that pushes us out to the summer. It seems like forever away, but we are all so excited to go some place fun and spend time with each other.
Christmas night we went over to Park's aunt Jean's house for some dinner and to see Park's cousin Ginny, her husband Jason, and their two cuties, Arlo and Matilda.
Here are just a few pictures from Christmas day at Park's parent's house. I really wish I would have taken more pictures this weekend!
