Maybe It Was Just Gas...

Last Monday, we had an appointment with our OB...just the routine monthly check-up to make sure that everything is still going as planned.  Dr. Thackeray asked me a funny question.  Actually, given the fact that I am pregnant and he is my OB, it's not really that funny.

Dr. Thackeray: "So, have you felt the baby move at all?"

Everything that I had read said that I wouldn't start felling Baby move until 18 or 20 weeks.  (Today I am only 14 weeks and 4 days)  He said that some women feel movement this early and told me some of the ways those women had described the feeling - pop rocks, spiders crawling, butterflies fluttering, gas, etc.  He also said that if I did feel the baby move, it would be between my pelvic bone and bellybutton, right in the middle, and not on the sides.

This morning after I got to work and started getting into my "work groove," I felt something...I felt something right where he said I would feel it...and it felt like fluttery gas.  I sat as still as I could and really paid attention.  It happened for several seconds at a time for about 5 or 10 minutes.  Then, nothing.  I text Park to tell him that I was pretty sure that I just felt Baby move for the first time.  "Your dreaming," he text back.  Then I really thought about it.  I think it very well could have been baby...but maybe it was just gas.

P.S.  My boss told me that I was starting to show today.  Surprisingly, it made me mad.  I felt like it was a nice way of telling me that I was getting fat.  Yes...I am a sensitive girl.  I told her that it would go away after I pooped.   Ha.
