Park had surgery yesterday. His left knee this time. He's feeling good...minus the near barfing on the drive home from the hospital and bouts of nausea the rest of the night and into the morning. The surgery went well. He had his follow-up appointment this morning. Dr. Gordon is very pleased so far. I took Park to his parent's house after his appointment on my way to work. His dad had the day off (those lucky state employees...Happy Veteran's Day) and his Mom was home taking it easy (doctor's orders from her weekend stint in the hospital). I needed to be at work today...but I wanted Park to be taken care of...so it worked out great that he could spend the day at his parent's. Oh. Work. My boss wants us to start doing as much overtime as possible because we are behind. Yeah. Right. It's hard enough getting 40 hrs. a week with everything else that's going on in my life right now.
Waiting to go to surgery
Out of surgery...one happy camper!
Headed home
Recovering
After picking up Park from his parent's, I rushed home to take Tug to his Vet appointment at 5:30 pm. I knew he had an ear infection in his left ear. And he also has big red sores on his belly next to his privates. Both of these things have been going on for awhile. I guess I was hoping they would just go away on their own. He doesn't have an infection in his left ear. He has infections in BOTH ears. A pseudomonas infection...which of course is more expensive to cure than the regular yeast infections that most dogs get in their ears. (Who am I kidding...Tug is, and never will be "most" dogs) An hour and a half...and...drum roll please...$265 later, we finally got to leave with ear cleaner, topical ear cream, antibiotics, and a very stylish cone. I finally got to go home, change into sweats, breathe, and eat a bowl of cereal...and two chocolate donuts.
At the vet..."Can we please go home?"
My cute, sad pup.
