Saturday morning we got a call early from Park's dad that Park's mom had been admitted to the hospital with a fever and an infection. We got ready and headed over to check up on her. She was in good spirits, as usual, and was felling pretty good from the fluids and antibiotics they were giving her through her IV.
While Park was up at the U watching the Utes play...I mean get killed by...TCU, I drove down to Pleasant Grove to spend time with my BFF Sarah and her cute daughter, Maia. Sarah and I met back in 2003 while we were both going to Snow College in Ephraim. We were answers to each others prayers at the time...and have stayed close ever since. We've been through good times, bad times, fun times, and sad times, and no matter how long we go without seeing each other, we always pick up where we left off. I can tell her anything and I know she feels the same way. I love her. We talked for hours. It was wonderful. I forgot to bring my camera...but here is a cute picture of Sarah, her husband Matt, and Maia:
Sunday after church we drove back over to the hospital to check on Cathy, and also brought bread so that Park could bless the sacrament for Cathy and Jay to take. Once again...I am so so so grateful for a husband who is a worthy priesthood holder. He continues to bless members of our family because of his worthiness.
Cathy finally got to go home today. I went upstairs when I got to work to check up on her, and she was all packed up and ready to go...just waiting on the doctor to sign her papers so she could leave. She's feeling good and is just supposed to take it easy this week.
Park is scheduled to get surgery on Wednesday. He is getting his left knee fixed this time. The surgery for his right knee was very successful, so we are crossing our fingers that we will have the same success with the left.
Happy wet, snowy, cold, dark Monday.
