Last week, while Park was at work, Baby Park and I were watching the Sorenson's Family Home Videos while playing on the floor with toys. Baby Park was trying to pull himself up onto the bookshelf, slipped, and hit his head on the tile floor. He started crying, so I got up off the floor where I way laying. I picked Baby Park up, turned around, and just inches from where my head was lying on the floor was a MOUSE!
I freaked, grabbed my phone, and jumped up onto the couch while still holding Baby Park. I called Park to frantically tell him what was going on. He laughed and told me to just open the front door, get the broom, and just try to shoo the mouse out. I hurried and got some shoes on...because what if it tried to bite my toes?!...and grabbed the broom. Every time I got close to the mouse with the broom it ran under the couch or other piece of furniture.
I finally put Baby Park into his walker, called Park back, and told him that his plan wasn't working. So, I grabbed a pot and waited until the mouse came out from under the furniture and I trapped it! I put Baby Park in his crib for a nap, and then sat on our bed until Park came home. I was too nervous and grossed out to stay in the living room.
Park finally came home to take care of the trapped mouse. It turned out that not only did I trap it under that pot, but I smashed its face and killed it. Disgusting. We now have at least 20 mouse traps spread out around the house...but we still haven't caught any. Hopefully that was the only one.
Before I trapped the mouse, I took a picture of him. Yes...I took a picture. What if he got away and no one believed me?!? He was trapped and killed right on top of that vent.
